Ian Blicq has been involved in project truck rentals for over 35 years. He has experience in all areas of the industry, having started in the wash bay and worked his way through operations, sales, and management roles before he co-founded Challenger in 1997. His experience, and the wealth of knowledge resulting from that experience, have made him a valuable resource for his customers, some of whom have done business with him for over 30 years. His philosophy is simple, "Ask the customer what they need, let them know what you can do to fill that need, and deliver on your promise." Married, with 4 grown children, Ian is active in the community, having volunteered with local youth groups and has acted as a host committee member for several national events being held in Edmonton.
Andy began his career with Challenger in the summer of 2007, working in the shop as an installer. Quickly rising to the role of Vehicle Coordinator, Andy has spent the last five years creating and implementing many of the procedures responsible for Challengers high standard of quality. The same standards that our customers have come to expect. Andy’s high attention to detail, along with superior customer service have made him a perfect fit as Challenger Fleets Account Executive.
Tom has been involved in the project rental industry since 1980, when he worked for a major industrial truck rental company. While there, he also discovered a need for a vehicle transport company specifically designed to assist major industrial contractors move their company fleets. Tom subsequently formed his own transportation company, National Auto Transfer. While operating National, he often worked in close collaboration with Ian to provide rentals and transportation for major industrial projects. In 1997, he and Ian decided it was time to combine their expertise and establish Challenger Fleet Management. Tom’s management experience, coupled with extensive industry knowledge and logistics expertise, has helped Challenger establish itself as the proven truck supplier capable of handling projects nationally, from Vancouver to Halifax.
Scott has been with Challenger since 2006, starting out in the wash bay. Since then Scott has worked his way up to become the Service Manager learning all aspects of the company along the way. Scott has been the Service Manager for the past six years and over that time has enjoyed learning all components of the vehicles. Challenger is dedicated to the overall satisfaction and, more importantly, the safety of all it’s customers. As such, Scott is committed to working closely with all vendors to ensure that the vehicles are kept up to the highest standard.
Gerard Dunwoody joined Challenger Fleet Management Services Ltd. as Controller in September 2006. Prior to Challenger Fleet Management Services Ltd, Mr. Dunwoody spent 5 years in a variety of positions with Grant Thornton LLP. He earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta and is a Chartered Accountant for Alberta and Canada.
Lacey St. Marie
Lacey St. Marie joined Challenger Fleet Management Services Ltd. accounting department in February 2011. Lacey works directly with our customers ensuring that all the invoicing is done accurately and in a timely manner. Prior to Challenger, Lacey held various accounting and customer service positions.
