Light Duty Vehicles

It’s a long time since the term “half-ton” loosely referred to the truck’s payload capacity. Originally, it meant that a truck could carry up to 1000 pounds (453.5 kg) of cargo and passengers in the cab and bed. Today’s’ new and improved half-ton pickups have been able to safely carry much more, surpassing their namesakes. But old habits die hard, and the name “half-ton” has stuck around to this day. It’s still helpful as a general classification term, differentiating the group from the larger, heavy-duty three-quarter-ton pickups and one-ton pickups (also obsolete terms). A better way to find out the maximum payload capacity is to check the individual truck’s specs online or in the owner’s manual to see what the manufacturer recommends.

Challengers 4×4 half tons generally come as crew cabs (with four full size doors) and with 5.5 ft or 6.5 ft pick up beds. These trucks are designed for light duty on or off road use, ideally suited to managers, supervisors, and foremen. All of Challengers ½ tons come fully equipped with options such as air conditioning, cruise control, tilt steering Bluetooth telephone capability, power windows, locks, and mirrors. These trucks are ordered with all terrain M+S rated tires, off road packages (skid plates, etc), and tow packages including electric brake controls. Of course, Challenger adds wood box liners, heavy duty mud flaps, and industrial seat covers to make these trucks ready to work for you!

Challengers 4×4 3/4 tons generally come as crew cabs, with four full size doors and commonly with 6.5 ft beds, though ¾ tons are also available with 8 ft pick up beds. These trucks are designed for heavier off road use, as they boast greater ground clearance than half tons. These units are ideally suited to foremen and for use as a 5 or 6 person crew vehicle. All Challengers 3/4 tons come fully equipped with options such as air conditioning, cruise control, tilt steering Bluetooth telephone capability, power windows, locks, and mirrors. These trucks are ordered with all terrain 10 ply tires, off road packages (skid plates, etc), and tow packages including electric brake controls. Of course, Challenger adds wood box liners, heavy duty mud flaps, and industrial seat covers to make these trucks ready to work for you!

Challengers 4×4 1 tons are available as crew cabs, with four full size doors and commonly with either 8 ft beds or with 9 ft flat decks . These trucks are designed for heavier off road use, as they boast slightly more ground clearance than ¾ tons. These units are ideally suited to foremen and for use as a 5 or 6 person crew vehicle. All Challengers 1 tons come fully equipped with options such as air conditioning, cruise control, tilt steering, Bluetooth telephone capability, power windows, locks, and mirrors. These trucks are ordered with all terrain 10 ply tires, off road packages (skid plates, etc), and tow packages including electric brake controls. Of course, Challenger adds wood box liners to the pickup bed units, heavy duty mud flaps, and industrial seat covers to make these trucks ready to work for you!

Medium Duty Vehicles

These medium duty 4×4 units are available in Crew Cab or Regular Cab, generally with 12 ft deck lengths. These trucks are designed for heavier duty use, as they boast the highest GVWR ratings available on our four wheel drive fleet and are ideally suited for use by 5 or 6 person crews who have a significantly heavier load than a conventional one ton can handle. These units generally come fully equipped with options such as air conditioning, cruise control, tilt steering, Bluetooth telephone capability, power windows, locks, and mirrors. These trucks are ordered with all terrain 10 ply tires, off road packages (skid plates, etc), and tow packages including electric brake controls. Of course, Challenger adds wood rails to the decks, heavy duty mud flaps, and industrial seat covers to make these trucks ready to work for you!

Challenger Fleet Moving van 5 Ton truck Rental

Single Axle 3 ton Van Body trucks with hydraulic brakes mean just about anybody with a class 5 license can take advantage of our 5 tons. Our covered van bodies come equipped with a 28 foot cargo body and a variety of tailgate options, making it easy to move up to 14,000 lbs in weight.

Single Axle flat decks with hydraulic brakes mean just about anybody with a class 5 license can take advantage of our 5 tons. Our decks come in 20-24 ft lengths, making it easy to move up to 14,000 lbs in weight.

Challenger offers units with knuckle boom pickers in both 4×4 Ram 5500 and Ford F550 series units, as well as heavier pickers mounted on International 4300 flat decks.

The medium duty 4×4 units are available in Crew Cab or Regular Cab, generally with Fassi F65 pickers and with 9 ft deck lengths. Many of these units are equipped with 5^th wheel hitches for trailers, and with cabinet style tool boxes. These trucks are designed for heavier duty use, as they boast the highest GVWR ratings available on our four wheel drive fleet. These units generally come fully equipped with options such as air conditioning, cruise control, tilt steering, Bluetooth telephone capability, power windows, locks, and mirrors. The trucks are ordered with all terrain 10 ply tires, off road packages (skid plates, etc), and tow packages including electric brake controls. Of course, Challenger adds wood rails to the decks, heavy duty mud flaps, and industrial seat covers to make these trucks ready to work for you!

The 5 ton International 4300 units come in 2 wheel drive only are and equipped with 18 foot flat decks. These trucks are commonly equipped with Hiab 144B pickers.

SUV / Vans / Cars

Mid Size SUV’s are often built off of Full-size car Chassis. Equipped with four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive for on or off-road ability. This option is ideal for people that do not require seating for more than five people, but do require a vehicle capable of off road accessibility.

Our most versatile option in the SUV range.For Seating up to Seven People with ample storage space in the back. All full size SUV’s come standard with four-wheel drive and a multitude of options to suite your needs.

Challengers’ fleet of full size passenger vans offers the option of getting groups of people to your worksite safely and efficiently. Our vans are known for reliability, performance and comfort. Challenger offers 8 passenger Transit (available 4×4) as well as rear wheel drive 15 and 12 passenger vans (12 pass 4×4 Available), the standard workhorse of the industry.
